YOGA and HEALTH

If your car breaks down, you can buy a new one. If you don’t like your house, you can move into another one. If you aren’t happy with your job, you can change it. If you can along with your partner anymore, you can break up. But what happens if your body is weak and sick? You have to live with your body until the end of your life; you can’t just switch to another, healthier body.

Health is one of the most important things in our life. How can you feel happy if your digestive system doesn’t work, if your hormones are out of balance and if you can’t move without pain due to dislocated discs in your spine?

Your Body is a fascinating machine in which thousands of biochemical processes take place every second. You might not realise because you don’t need to do anything for these processes to happen but most of the time we don’t appreciate our bodies enough. How often do you overeat on heavy foods, or eat denatured foods that even animals wouldn’t touch? How many times a week do you not sleep enough? How many poisonous substances, like smoke, alcohol, drugs, chemicals in our foods and drinks, do you put into your body? How often do you risk injuries due to over-exercise and extreme sports?

We reassure ourselves with an overload of medicines in pharmacies and thousands of doctors available who can “repair “our sick bodies. However it would save us a lot of time and money if we would try to stay healthy.

Yoga can help you to stay healthy and therefore happy. Proven benefits of Yoga are:

  • Strengthens the immune system
  • Strengthens muscles and improves flexibility
  • Keeps joints and discs  healthy
